Modern day Sigma Beta Rho has grown considerably since its inception. It has expanded from its roots in the East Coast with 17 recognized chapters and colonies that span the breadth of the nation. Through the efforts of our brothers and the reputation that precedes them, we have become the largest and most expansive fraternity of our kind in just ten short years. As every day passes, we realize that we are another day closer to the nationwide network envisioned by our Founding Fathers. Through the years, we have carried our ideals of Society, Brotherhood, and Remembrance beyond our original objectives. We promote diversity within our organization and are proud to accept brothers of all cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs. With such a diverse foundation of brothers, we continue to create capable and upstanding leaders for the community that has done so much for us.

What can I say about this individual? Hitesh has put a lot of his time into Sigma Beta Rho. Being a Founding Father of an organization is no easy task, especially when you are a freshman. He took on the responsibility with his other line brothers and helps start the Oregon State University Colony.
Anyone that knows Hitesh, Knows that he is a very determined person. He does not like to loose, or fail at a task. Hitesh has a very competitive nature. He used that competitive personality to make the Oregon State Colony into a thriving Colony. He has held many positions over the years. He has been Vice President, Webmaster, and National Representative. Three Tasks that take up a lot of time. Not only does he not excel at his tasks but he also helps his brothers finish their tasks. He also helps all of us with any school assignment that he can help us with. He makes everyone around him be on his level.
Everyone knows Hitesh the genius, but not everyone knows the Fun Hitesh. He knows how to have a good time, and he makes sure his friends are also having a good time. Every time I play basketball with him and I'm having a bad game, he makes the best out of the situation, and makes sure that I start having fun again.
What more can I say. He's one of the greatest brothers a guy can ask for! Hitesh we love you.

OUR MISSION

The Oregon State University, colony of Sigma Beta Rho Fraternity was established to instill leadership qualities in men at Oregon State University, organize and motivate them to provide service to society, raise cultural awareness and add diversity to our campus. The fraternity was founded to embody the ideals of Society, Brotherhood, and Remembrance among its members.

Sigma symbolizes Societ

The ideal Society refers to the community in which one lives. Sigma Beta Rho fosters the belief that individuals have a responsibility to the society to which they belong. It is one's duty as a brother to give back to one's family, community, and fraternity that which an individual has to offer to the ideal of service.

Beta symbolizes Brotherhood

The invincible bond that is shared between the members of this fraternity. This bond is symbolized by the word "Qurbani" which is the Hindi translation of the word "sacrifice". Qurbani represent the strength of our brotherhood and our unity as a Fraternity.

Rho symbolizes Remembrance

At a time when many individuals share a birthplace different from that of their ancestors. It is necessary for an individual to recognize and appreciate his culture. Sigma Beta Rho not only encourages its members to appreciate their own culture, but also to gain an awareness of other cultures of the members of the fraternity.
